Society Portrait Painter Edith Stevenson Wright
My great-grand parents had their only child's portrait done when she was fourteen years old. The sitting took place in Struthers, Ohio with local artist, Edie Stevenson, who did portraits in order to help her widowed mother and siblings out financially. The medium Edie used was colored chalk. My aunt has this beautiful portrait of my Grandmother Phillips, age 14, on display at her home in Youngstown, Ohio. This early work of Edith Stevenson Wright's is a priceless family possession created during a time when life was sweet.

Edith was a very talented woman. Had she been born a man, or in a different time, she would be world famous, imo. Her portraits were beautiful and so was your Grandmother :)
